A Colorful Diamond Alternative

Sometimes, the clear look of a diamond is not what you dream of for your engagement ring! September is sapphire season AND proposal season, so I want to give you reasons to consider sapphire for your engagement ring. 

·       Durability: (Look, I know durability does not make it on your top ten list of ring sexiness, but hear me out!) It is not enough that your ring looks good brand new, but it has to hold up to your day-to-day life.  In the list of durability, sapphire comes after diamond, which is the most durable of gemstones. 

·       Color Options: Sapphire comes in a whole rainbow of colors and all the shades in between (think orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)! You can choose whichever color you like. You could have a bright, pink sapphire or a soft, apricot color sapphire in your ring.  You could even have a bi-colored sapphire that has two distinctive colors in the body.  And to get really crazy, there are color-change sapphires! 

·       Unique: Having a sapphire in your ring will make your ring stand out and be unique because no one will have the same shade of sapphire in the same ring as yours. 

You must be prepared, though, to spend some time with your jeweler to find the one that you like. Choosing the right sapphire has everything to do with the color you love, so don’t rush the process!
