Summer Jewelry Guide

Wearing jewelry in the summer is different from your winter wardrobe. In the summer, we are wearing clothing and shoes that have wrists, necks, ankle, and toes exposed. Prime jewelry wearing real estate!  Here are some things to consider.

·       Lightness: Warm weather causes us to wear clothes that feel light, whether it is in fabric or colors, and our jewelry should reflect that.  Heavy statement necklaces are something for the fall or winter, but for the summer, think diamond station necklaces, large, colored gemstones but on a very simple ring or bracelet design. And, fun, twisty and airy, hoop earrings!

·       Outdoors to Night: This can be different from the idea of day to night jewelry, in the sense that, in the summer, we tend to be outdoors at the beach, lake, backyard bbq, or hiking during the day. The jewelry that we wear should be able to transition into a night out!  My favorite summer jewelry in my adjustable, diamond, flex bracelet. It looks fabulous with a swimsuit and fabulous with a dress.

·       Pearls: There is something about pearls and summer that hit for me. When we think of summer, we tend to think of the beach or a body of water, and pearls literally come from the ocean!

·       Exposed Joints: Ankles, toes, and wrists make more of an appearance during summer! A swoopy chain on the ankle or a cute toe ring dresses up the sandals you are wearing, and again, look fabulous with a swimsuit!

·       Style Switch: During the summer, you might be inspired to wear a boho style outfit because, well, it just seems fitting, especially for summer concerts.  Interesting gemstones, choker necklaces, turquoise jewelry, large hoop earrings, and slave bracelet styles (where the bracelet attaches to a middle finger ring) are some boho jewelry examples.
