·       Durability: From a science perspective, diamonds are one of the hardest minerals. It’s resistance to scratches and chips are higher than any other gemstone.  The facet lines on a diamond will stay sharp for the life of the gemstone, as opposed to diamond imitations and most colored gemstones, which will scratch and show soft lines on the facets with just a few years of wearing them.   

·       The Perfect Neutral: My favorite thought is that diamonds are like the color black, it can be dressed up or dressed down making it relevant to any style.  Our clothing and hair styles will change as we get older, but a diamond will always match! You can pair a colored gemstone in your wedding band for a pop of color, but having the center as a diamond will keep it relevant, in terms of style, forever. 

·       Symbolism: I love the symbolic meaning of a diamond staying beautiful forever to represent your marriage. We go into our marriages with hope and determination that this person is it for us, this is forever, and while that doesn’t always happen, it’s important for us to make that our goal. Diamonds are not indestructible, they require care. Diamonds will scratch other diamonds and excessive force can chip and crack a diamond, but with proper care, it will last. Just like our marriages require proper care from both people.
