We are about a month away from my favorite time of year, fall! Fall is a popular time of year for weddings and proposals (think gorgeous, natural light and great weather), so I wanted to give you a list of engagement ring trends you’ll see more of this year.

· Distinctive Solitaire Rings: The solitaire ring is the original ring style for jewelry! This year, you are going to see subtle variations of the solitaire that make each one unique. Traditionally, one sets a fancy shaped diamond (everything except round) lengthwise on the finger, but more rings are being chosen where the gemstone sits east-to-west across the finger. You are also going to see more bezel set solitaires. A bezel means that there is an outline of gold around the gemstone instead of being held by individual prongs. Another fun variation is adding small, secret diamonds to the head or crown that holds the diamond in place so that there is a surprise when you look at it from all angles. This one is especially important to brides!
· Multiple Gemstones: The et moi style has been popular this summer (and will continue to be so) which is two diamonds or gemstones set together. They are usually different shapes and can be different gemstones, but there is only two. We are going to see more multiple shaped gemstones together creating a bouquet look. This can be so personal as each gemstone or diamond can represent something important to the couple and has a beautiful story to share with family and friends!
· Colorful Centerstage: While clear diamonds continue to be the most popular, color is making a comeback! Sometimes, it is added as an accent, and other times, it is front and center. Fancy colored diamonds in yellows, pinks, browns, and blues will make her ring stand out from the crowd. After diamond, sapphires make the most practical sense for color because they come in every color of the rainbow and they are the next most durable gemstone from diamond. Sapphires can be pastel or bright in tone which makes each ring unique to the couple.

Creating a beautiful ring that is individual to the couple does take time, so while it is not even mid-August, it is a good time to begin the process. Besides, you might have fall trips planned that would make a perfect opportunity to get down on one knee.
