How to Choose the Right Engagement Ring

There is something about an engagement where the asker of the couple was the one who chose the ring and planned the whole event that makes me go, “awwww!”  Taking the risk on choosing the engagement ring is brave, and if you are one of those people, I have a few tips for you because summer proposals are right around the corner!

Look At Her Pinterest Board

More than likely, she has a Pinterest board with engagement rings pinned to. These are ring styles she really likes, and it is a huge win to be able to see them.  You may not have a Pinterest account, but you can ask one of her closest friends (who can keep a secret) to screenshot the rings and send them to you.

Look At the Jewelry She Already Wears

She probably already wears jewelry and has a certain style esthetic she likes.  Look at her jewelry to see what metal color she wears, which is very important. Does she wear bold and sparkly pieces or classic and understated?

Go Through Your Text Pictures and Social Media Messages

She may have messaged you a reel or text a picture of rings she likes in anticipation of you deciding to ask the big question.  You may have to scroll back a little ways if you send each other lots of pictures and social media reels!

Ask a Friend

One of her closest friends may know exactly what she wants, so don’t be shy about asking that person, as long as they can keep a secret!  She may have sent her bestie pictures of rings she likes, or the browsed together at a store trying on rings.  The bestie may know her ring size or know a clever way to get it.
